4. Batting
Zone A (between 1st / 2nd pole (Shown in picture above) – If the ball hits the nets, with or without bounce, 2 bonus runs will be added if the batsmen’s runs between the wickets. If Batsmen DO NOT run between the wickets, NO runs will be awarded.
Boundaries (behind the bowler): 4 or 6 runs
On the bounce or after contact with any nets on the bounce: 4 runs
On the full or contact with the Nets without touching the ground: 6 runs
Overthrows to the fence can result in 4’s
Nets stacked in the Boundary Zone will count as the Boundary as well. [i.e. If the ball hits the nets stacked in the boundary zone, it will be counted as a boundary per the rules above]
Byes/Leg Byes
Run for Byes (anywhere in the field)
Leg Byes NOT ALLOWED
d. Special ZONE – Shots hitting the designated spots will be counted as bonus runs (just like a boundary – running runs are not counted)
PowerPlay Over
One over will be designated as Power Play – All runs scored will be doubled, including Wide ball / No-ball
If the batting team does not choose a power play over the 10th over, Final) will be a power play by default
Any wicket in Power play is -5 (Minus 5) runs
5. Bowling
Over per bowler limit: Total 5 bowlers bowling
Maximum 2 Overs each bowler
Wide Ball rules
Wide Ball – is NOT counted and is 1 run
No Ball Rules
Any bouncer over shoulder height is a no-ball
A full toss above the waist is a no-ball
Overstepping the crease is a no-ball
No Ball – is NOT counted and is 1 run + Next Ball – Free Hit
No runs will be allotted on a dead ball. The bowler will have to re-bowl the ball.
No-Ball takes precedence over a wide ball
Throwing a bowling ball is not allowed. The decision will be taken by the umpire.
6. Fielding
Can only have a maximum of 3 fielders behind the Bowling side Stumps
Wicket-keeper is mandatory
Catches: Direct catches, no rebounds. For roof rebounds, the ball is in play but not a Catch
If a player takes the catch and runs into the nets, it will still be deemed a catch, and the batsman will be ruled out.
7. Getting Out
Bowled – Yes
Caught – Yes
Run Out – Yes
LBW: No LBW outs
8. Umpiring
Each game will have Neutral umpires.
It’s the captain’s responsibility to send the umpire for their scheduled umpiring.
No payment will be made for umpires.
If any team fails to do umpiring, then that team will lose 1(0ne) point from their points table.
The umpire’s decision is FINAL.
9. Super Over
In the case of a Tie, a Super Over will be played.
Subsequent super overs will be played till a result is achieved.
10. General Rules / Etiquette
Team Roasters will be locked on 10/1/2025 @ 11:59 PM CST. And once after the roaster is locked no more changes are allowed
Max 12 players/team ( need committee’s approval to alter a player from the initial roster)
All players must report at the venue at least 15 minutes before the game starts
A minimum of 5 players is required for a match to start. If fewer than 5 players are not available, the match will be awarded to the opposite team.
Umpire decisions are final & irrevocable.
Players are required to come in sportswear (Shoes compulsory)
No shorts allowed
Spiked shoes are NOT allowed inside the playing area.
All players are expected to be courteous to each other and to the officials
Arguments with the umpire will lead to player/team disqualification. This will be strictly followed.
Profanity / Consumption of Food / Alcohol are absolutely NOT ALLOWED in the playing area, and will lead to team disqualification
All members will have to sign CrossBat waivers of liability
The Tournament Committee reserves the right to amend the rules at any time if it deems such action to be in the best interests of the competition.
EVERYONE MUST UPLOAD PLAYER PICTURES ON CRICCLUBS BEFORE THE START OF THE LEAGUE.
