General Tournament Information

What is the format of the tournament?
The tournament will begin with Group Stages (groups formed based on the number of registered teams), followed by Knockouts.
  • Group Stages: First two weekends
  • Knockouts: Final weekend
  • 10 over each team (8 vs. 8) but teams can have up to 12 members to account for subs / availability etc.
  • This will be fully indoors and will be played with a hard tennis ball.
Each team should plan to be available until all their scheduled fixtures are completed.
  • The schedule will be shared in advance.
  • Teams may play two back-to-back games or have two games within a 4-hour block, reducing the need to stay the whole day.
  • Teams advancing to the knockout rounds should expect to stay until their matches are completed on that day

Yes! Individuals can register, and organizers will help form teams from individual sign-ups.

Yes. Matches will follow standard indoor cricket rules, with minor venue-specific modifications. A detailed rulebook will be shared with all captains and teams before the tournament.
Yes. Teams may update or substitute players before the tournament begins (with organizer approval).
  • Once group stages start, changes are not allowed except in the case of injuries (subject to the organizer’s discretion).
Yes. The minimum age is 12 years.
  • Participants under 18 must have signed parental/guardian consent.
No. A player may only represent one team in the tournament. Multiple registrations will result in disqualification.
Yes. Water, sports drinks (like Gatorade), and light snacks/food will be available for purchase at the venue.
  • Teams are encouraged to stay hydrated throughout the day.
  • We will plan to organize some food options at the venue (TBD)
  • We are accounting for that in the schedule and will plan on wrapping up games on Oct 4th by 4pm to ensure you can enjoy / celebrate the MTBC night.

MBCL 2.0 Youth Participation

What is the minimum age to participate?
Minimum age is 12 years. Players under 18 must have parental/guardian consent.
A consent form will be shared with all teams that include youth players. Parents/guardians must sign and submit it before the tournament begins.
Yes. MBCL teams can include both adults and youth (12+). Parents are even welcome to play with their children on the same team!
Yes. Standard indoor cricket safety measures apply, including:
  • Appropriate protective gear requirement
  • Fair play rules
  • Active umpire supervision
